It is known that the contest was held for the 1st time in New South Wales, Australia in the year 2002. The objective of the sheep counting sport is to count as many sheep as you can, and whoever makes the most accurate guess will be crowned as the winner.
So now you know – sheep counting is indeed a sport. And it also has rules: about 400-500 sheep will run past competitors, who then have to guess the exact amount, or the amount closest to actual number. The first winner was Peter Desailly, who counted 277 sheep. Cheers m8!
